VICTOR ERICE

Collaboration with Nautilus Films, produced by Victor Erice, started in 2001 with the short film "Lifeline" and remains until today. In all productions and projects that Victor Erice has developed over the years, Cesar Romero serves as executive producer and assistant director. Global Stone Films provides ongoing support for Nautilus Films.

In 2001, Victor Erice approached Ruedo Productions with the proposal he had made with Road Movies (Wim Wenders’s production company) to undertake a short 10 minute film, which focused on the passage of time and to be part of the compilation film "Ten minutes older" with parts of other great directors like Bernardo Bertolucci, Spike Lee, Jim Jarmusch, Wim Wenders and Jean-Luc Godard.

Thus was born "Lifeline" produced by Nautilus Films and Ruedo Productions, which was shot in October 2001 in Llanes, Asturias.

It was presented at the Cannes Film Festival 2002 in the film "Ten minutes older, the trumpet" where it obtained splendid reviews and was considered one of the best parts of the entire film (including film magazine Variety which reported it to be the best 10 minutes of the whole film festival in that edition).

"Lifeline" is published in Spain, on sale exclusively at FNAC, on a DVD whose main content is "La Morte Rouge".

A 35-minute audiovisual piece described as "soliloquy", in which Victor Erice as narrator tells us his first film experience, the first movie he remembered seeing. It was "The Scarlet Claw", a film about Sherlock Holmes set in a Canadian village called La Morte Rouge.
